Thank You 2025 Blue Jays

As most Jays fans probably did, I needed a couple of days to recover before starting to think about the Jays again. I know I'm also late on a Steelers reaction, being so bummed from the Jays I honestly hardly watched that game, but they won so that's nice! This post is going to be all positive, no reliving the plays that could've won the Jays the big dance but just barely didn't, there's tons of places you can go for that. This is just remembering the best team of my lifetime and giving flowers to the players that made this season so fun. I think I'm just going to go series by series and just pour my heart out on what I can remember. The best part of a deep playoff run is how it brings people together to watch like nothing else can, so I'll try to include some of those memories in here as well.  Daaaaaa Yankees Lose! Despite having the same record, all regular season the Jays took care of business against the Yankees and showed they were the better team. Th...

Steelers Weeks 7 and 8 Reactions

Back a little late for week 7 but I missed that one and I should say things I guess. Honestly lumping these 2 games together kind of makes sense, they lost in similar ways both times, though the Bengals one is especially disappointing considering they're now coming off a loss to the Jets of all teams. Plenty to complain about, also some stuff to remain encouraged by! Back to back losses but still sitting a game and a half up on the division lead with more than half the season to play, I'll take it. Anyway, lets get into it.  Highest Paid Defense in the NFL I wanted to give them a slight pass for the annoying Thursday night loss to the Bengals in week 7. It was a division opponent on the road on a short week with veteran and Steelers killer Joe Flacco running the show now in Cincinnati. The entire game the broadcast was absolutely loving Joe Flacco's performance, but I don't even think he was doing anything overly complicated. The Bengals just had their star receivers r...

Jays are Going to the World Series

Ok, I've taken a bit of a hiatus on this blog with work getting busy and me just reevaluating if I want to continue these or how I want to if I do. I missed a Steelers reaction from their Thursday night loss, I'll try to come back late with that as well. Today is a special day though, for the first time in my life the Toronto Blue Jays are going to the World Series. If that doesn't call for a blog post, I don't know what does. Honestly I'm just going to memory dump as many of my Jays memories as I can in this one.  My first ever sports love was the Toronto Blue Jays. It's easy to see why. My whole life Raptors and Leafs tickets were >$100 per game, not really something you can take your family of 5 to regularly unless you're pulling in the big bucks.  The Jays though you could get 500 level tickets for $15 each, and with my dad being a sports fan that meant we went to a lot of Jays games. I distinctly remember going as a kid to a baseball card giveaway d...

Steelers Week 6 Reaction

Sorry I'm late! Holiday Monday then was slammed and a little sick yesterday so here we are on Wednesday. This game doesn't really need much of a recap though anyway, the Browns stink and the Steelers took care of business in a stress free manor. With all the teams in the NFL suffering an embarrassing loss or two at this point, it's unclear who the actual cream of the crop is this season. I think that really opens up the possibility that the Steelers are truly contenders, not just in the Lohensports world! Anyway, quick recap incoming:    Smooth Sailing Ok, maybe I was a little nervous in the first half for like a quick second. The game started off with the Steelers marching down the field easily 3 separate times. My favorite part of the offense early was how they got big Darnell Washington involved right away, and kept going back to him. On the first play of the game the Steelers faked a run and hit Washington with a pass. The big man rumbled down the field for a 30 yard...

Steelers Week 4 Reaction

I love the early morning start time for the Euro games! I was done watching this one at 1pm leaving the rest of my Sunday free to do whatever I wished. Apparently that didn't include watching the most consequential Jays game in a decade, but they got it done without my patronage anyway so yay! The Jays winning the division is awesome, it is slightly scary that their reward for that is playing either the Red Sox or Yankees, but the Jays have been better than those teams all season and we can't live in our fears now! I am hyped and will be finding ways to go to the playoffs so please Jays go deep!  Anyway, we're here to talk Steelers! The Steelers had their most impressive, well rounded game of the year yesterday morning for about 55 minutes. Then just to get our heart rates going they nearly blew it before thankfully holding on for a victory to push the team to 3-1. Just 2 weeks ago 3-1 was the Steelers subreddit's biggest fear, now we're here I wonder how everyone...

NBA Eastern Conference Standings Prediction

Sorry I didn't do an NFL week 3 reaction, I am so busy at work which I probably should be focusing on. Honestly though, this is my blog I can post whenever I want and whatever I want no need to put pressure on myself right? Enough rambling, this is a big one! We're at the end of September and I'm starting to see NBA training camp photos come out. The excitement of a new season is upon us and it's time to make a post that makes me seem foolish in April. I think I have a pretty decent handle on the NBA and players on every team so I feel pretty comfortable predicting the standings here, that being said I will 100% be wrong and I can't wait to see how. Without further ado, here's how the Eastern conference is going to shake out.  15. Brooklyn Nets If the Nets aren't last or second last in the entire NBA I will be absolutely shocked. They are going the traditional rebuild route though which a lot of fans really clamor for, and I don't mind how they're e...

Steelers Week 3 Reaction

The Patriots absolutely refused to win this one and so we have a happy Steelers reaction for week 3! All things considered a win is a win, and doing so in Foxborough has historically never been easy for the Steelers. The Steelers have won just 4 times in Gillette Stadium since 1974 and their last win was in 2008, the year they won the Superbowl with an elite defense. It was strange seeing the Patriots be so subpar and beatable, the colours on the jerseys made me think the boogieman was coming eventually, but Brady is retired, Rodgers is a Steeler and it's time to get with the times. Lets get into a Steelers win! Looked Easy, Then it Wasn't  I gotta say, through the first quarter I thought this game would be a cakewalk. The Patriots started with the ball and a few plays in Rhamondre Stevenson fumbles, recovered by Darius Slay around mid field to give the Steelers the first takeaway of the game. The Steelers establish the running game early, something they hadn't managed to ...
