RJ Barrett is a Valuable Asset

 Ok this is a post purely because everyone in my life is sick and tired of me talking about RJ Barrett so I needed to let it out. I don't usually post on a Friday, but I tried to post this stat to Reddit this morning and I got denied there as well LOL. Since this is MY blog where I make the rules, the RJ Barrett post will live on here: 


Players Averaging 20+ Points, 5+ Assists and 5+ Rebounds and their Salaries Next Season


Sorry for the ugly formatting. The point here is that yes 10 years ago RJ Barrett making almost $28m would've been a massive overpay. Today, he is the only player not on a rookie contract that is putting up these numbers. We are yet to see it lead to a winning season, but for fans to want to throw this away before we give it a chance is crazy to me! RJ is on a steal of a contract, is 24 years old and is fully bought into the team and the system. I hope I get to cheer him on in Toronto again next season.

Ode to Kyle Lowry

 I can't believe this wasn't my first post. This blog as of right now is pretty much just a public diary where I write about my sports heroes and thoughts and nobody in the world had a bigger sports impact on me than Kyle Lowry. Growing up as a white kid in Toronto, we watched hockey. I remember my dad used to call the Raptors "the craptors" and he wasn't entirely off-base. Predicting the NBA Western Conference Standings

 Yesterday I wrote about my predictions for the Eastern Conference. It was pretty hard, some bold takes in there that are sure to make me look foolish in April. Today I'm embarking on the even more difficult task of projecting the Western Conference. As always readers, if you have a problem with these lists please let me know in the comments!  15. Portland Trailblazers  This is the only "easy" one on this list. The Blazers were not a good team last season. They have since traded one of their best players in Malcom Brogdon. They did however swing for an intriguing young player Deni Avdija that should help them out this year. They aren't a completely hopeless program. Former first overall pick DeAndre Ayton could have a resurgent season, "Timelord" Robert Williams may be healthy, Scoot Henderson in year two could show more flashes of being a productive NBA player.
