Steelers Week 4 Reaction

I love the early morning start time for the Euro games! I was done watching this one at 1pm leaving the rest of my Sunday free to do whatever I wished. Apparently that didn't include watching the most consequential Jays game in a decade, but they got it done without my patronage anyway so yay! The Jays winning the division is awesome, it is slightly scary that their reward for that is playing either the Red Sox or Yankees, but the Jays have been better than those teams all season and we can't live in our fears now! I am hyped and will be finding ways to go to the playoffs so please Jays go deep!  Anyway, we're here to talk Steelers! The Steelers had their most impressive, well rounded game of the year yesterday morning for about 55 minutes. Then just to get our heart rates going they nearly blew it before thankfully holding on for a victory to push the team to 3-1. Just 2 weeks ago 3-1 was the Steelers subreddit's biggest fear, now we're here I wonder how everyone...

NBA Eastern Conference Standings Prediction

Sorry I didn't do an NFL week 3 reaction, I am so busy at work which I probably should be focusing on. Honestly though, this is my blog I can post whenever I want and whatever I want no need to put pressure on myself right? Enough rambling, this is a big one! We're at the end of September and I'm starting to see NBA training camp photos come out. The excitement of a new season is upon us and it's time to make a post that makes me seem foolish in April. I think I have a pretty decent handle on the NBA and players on every team so I feel pretty comfortable predicting the standings here, that being said I will 100% be wrong and I can't wait to see how. Without further ado, here's how the Eastern conference is going to shake out.  15. Brooklyn Nets If the Nets aren't last or second last in the entire NBA I will be absolutely shocked. They are going the traditional rebuild route though which a lot of fans really clamor for, and I don't mind how they're e...

Steelers Week 3 Reaction

The Patriots absolutely refused to win this one and so we have a happy Steelers reaction for week 3! All things considered a win is a win, and doing so in Foxborough has historically never been easy for the Steelers. The Steelers have won just 4 times in Gillette Stadium since 1974 and their last win was in 2008, the year they won the Superbowl with an elite defense. It was strange seeing the Patriots be so subpar and beatable, the colours on the jerseys made me think the boogieman was coming eventually, but Brady is retired, Rodgers is a Steeler and it's time to get with the times. Lets get into a Steelers win! Looked Easy, Then it Wasn't  I gotta say, through the first quarter I thought this game would be a cakewalk. The Patriots started with the ball and a few plays in Rhamondre Stevenson fumbles, recovered by Darius Slay around mid field to give the Steelers the first takeaway of the game. The Steelers establish the running game early, something they hadn't managed to ...

Ranking My Favorite #6s in Toronto Sports

If you've been following the Jays this year, congratulations it's been a really fun season! You also may know that the Jays magic number for the division sits at 6 after a narrow victory against the Rays last night. 6 is coincidentally the number I always chose when playing sports growing up so I've had a unique bond with the number my entire life. With that in mind, I thought I'd pretty much just list guys in Toronto sports who I remember wearing 6 to celebrate the magic number being down to 6. These are all going to be guys from my lifetime who I can actually pull a memory or two from. It's a slimmer list than you'd think, the Leafs retired number 6 for Ace Bailey, some dude who played in the 30s and the NBA retired number 6 league wide in honour of Bill Russell.  Before we get into that though, the Rays last night got gifted maybe one of the worst calls I've ever seen in an MLB game. In the 3rd inning Brandon Lowe hit a ball deep to right field, Nathan L...

NFL: Week 2 Reaction

Woot! Talking about non-Steelers games in a Steelers loss week. I saw someone on Reddit today try to calm the fanbase down, the overall sentiment in return was that yes the team is pretty good, but are they any different than the last few years? I think it's crazy, people can't be happy unless their team wins the Superbowl. I for one am happy I'm not watching the Raiders every week like some fans are subjected to, but whatever. Anyway, on what looked like it was going to be a boring week of football, there were a few really good games and a bunch of things that have implications on future weeks! The season rolls on and so does Lohensports:  Giants Cowboys Can't start anywhere else but the definite game of the week. If this was a prime time Sunday Night Game it'd be labeled the game of the year, but buried at 1pm not enough eyeballs got on it to do it justice. The 4th quarter of this game started with a 17-16 Dallas lead which they grew to 20-16 after a 44 yard Bran...

Steelers Week 2 Reaction

The Jays swept the Orioles! Nothing else notable happened this weekend right? I hate hoping on here after a Steelers loss, but it's just the first and not the last of the season. Sucks when they beat themselves but it happens! I do always find it funny how after the first loss of the season the fans immediately go into fire Tomlin and trade the team mode. This was a game that could've been won if a couple key flukey mistakes didn't happen so I'll try to stay level headed here.  Steelers DBs are Slow AF I'll get to the key blunders in a minute, I think the real reason they lost this game is they had a complete inability to stop the Seahawks slot receivers. The Steelers defense actually did a pretty good job on first and second down in this one. After being torched in the running game week 1 you could tell it was more of a point of emphasis this week and I think they did a reasonable job. Felt like all game the Seahawks were in second or third and long situations, an...

NFL: Week 1 Reaction

We're back! Sorry I am a day late with this one, had a bunch of real work to do which got in the way of me roasting the Ravens. Really fun week 1, as it usually is. I managed to catch all of the prime time games, the full Steelers game and little bits and pieces of other 1pm games. Missed the 4:00 slot but you can't win them all. I think how I'll start to format this for this season is picking 3 games and commenting on those. If I feel like I should write more I will, and if there's a stat I want to cover I'll add a section, but the baseline for this will be commentary on 3 games I saw. Lets get to overreacting:  Vikings Defense Is Scary I think I want the Vikings to enter my inner circle of favorite teams this year. Of course the Steelers will always be #1, the Bills I'll always have a soft spot for due to proximity and Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels is the football love of my life so I gotta route for the Commanders too but Minnesota you can slide in at #4 for su...

Steelers Week 1 Reaction

It's so good to be back. In classic Steelers fashion yesterday they pulled off the win thanks to a bit of good luck and not beating themselves. On paper the Jets seemed like a lighter week 1 opponent but the game still went right down to the wire. There was a lot to criticize but also a lot to like about this one and at the end of the day they came away with the win which is all I can ask for. Lets break down some of my thoughts on the Steelers' week 1:  Aaron Rodgers Looks Great Hard to start anywhere else! Coming into this one I would've called the passing game the biggest question mark for this year's Steelers. Rodgers answered those questions with his performance on Sunday. It felt like Rodgers did what you want a star QB to do, respond when your team needs it. The Steelers defense struggled, especially against the run, early in this one. The Jets got off to a 3-0 lead but Rodgers responded by converting 2 straight 3rd and 10s en route to a TD drive for the Steeler...

Your 2025 NFL Division Winners (And Superbowl Champs)

Today's the day! After months of waiting, the NFL season is finally upon us. Carrie Underwood can feed her family once more off her Waiting All Day for Sunday Night earnings, we can take in commercials on Red Zone now for the first time and Sundays can finally be filled with melting into the couch for 10 straight hours. I couldn't be more excited! It's time to make some bold, and not so bold predictions to kick off the season. I vow to come back to this post when the Superbowl ends to remark at how silly I was, but until then I'll believe I'm being super smart. Before I start, please remember that while I am pretty up to date on the Steelers, I am woefully uninformed on every other team in the league. This is pretty much my opinion on all these teams based on watching like 1 game of each of them last season and sleepily following NFL news on social media. It's a for fun exercise after all! Lets get into it:  AFC East - Buffalo Bills Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphin...

Logan's Top 5 QBs for 2025

Football is right around the corner with the Cowboys taking on the Eagles tomorrow night, and I couldn't be more excited. 1 year ago today I wrote my top 5 QBs post , which is in my opinion a fun way to kick off the season. Looking back at it now, I was so high on the CJ Stroud sophomore season I think I even picked them to win the Superbowl. I'm of course going to make the same mistakes again this year, what fun are these posts if not to look back on how silly I was. Tomorrow if I have time I'll pick the division winners and Superbowl winner to get you Lohensporters fully T'd up for this season. Without further delay here's the 2025 top 5 QBs: Honorable mentions: Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert  It feels bad leaving the Superbowl MVP off my top 5, but I'm stupidly high on Jayden Daniels, probably to a fault like I was with CJ Stroud. Herbert might feel like a stretch but it's just the Chargers stink. This guy can do everything Mahomes and Allen can he's jus...
