I am making a 6th post this week for the first time ever. Cheating a little cause I wrote like 3 sentences about Aaron Rodgers, something I'll be back to when there's more of a lull in the NBA schedule. Last night's finals game left me no choice but to post a quick reaction here though. How on earth did the Pacers do it again!? As I was watching it happen I was laughing to myself thinking there's no way they pull it off again right? Then of course they did and of course it was Haliburton with the game winner again. I don't even know of a player with this many playoff moments in his entire career let alone one playoff run. Anyway, lets get into it.  OKC Dominates for 47 Minutes  Honestly, I was bored watching this game for almost the entire 4 quarters. In the first half, the Pacers looked like they were playing out of control and nervous. They were making uncharacteristic turnovers, a lot of it was forced by the insane OKC defense but a lot of it was just sloppy play...

 Well! It happened! I'll have a full post about it either tomorrow or next week depending what I am feeling but my initial reaction is positive! So many Steelers fans didn't want this guy because he's a bit of an enigma, somewhat of a moron and his politics are annoying at best. He's also old and probably over the hill. But screw it man. They were about to go into a season with Mason Rudolph as the QB1 and as much as I would've been on here hyping that guy up every day, we all knew that wasn't going to lead anywhere. Is Aaron Rodgers going to lead to something? Probably not, but we'll have fun along the way and I think he gives the team more of a shot. The Jets are a terrible organization, Rodgers was coming off an Achilles tear and will be one year stronger and I just watched them make the playoffs with a slightly worse washed QB in Russell Wilson. Hate the guy if you will, but I am glad they got an actual option at QB1 this season instead of having to talk...

 Quick post today, but I'll try to make it count! I wanted to take some time to shout out the 4 Canadians who will be seeing real rotation minutes in the finals this year. I can't remember a time ever where there were so many Canadian difference makers in the NBA finals and I've got at least some brief thoughts on all of them! Also, I missed the game last night but I saw Edmonton won in what looked like a thriller! Could we see Canada finally take home a Stanley Cup? I hope so! Benedict Mathurin - Montreal, Quebec I'm not sure why but it seems like Montreal produces a lot of hoopers! This is probably the guy I have the least amount of opinions on, we never got to see him play for team Canada, but he's Canadian and he gets a shout out too! Mathurin is a funny player type, out of players who've played at least 29 minutes per game in the regular season, the only guards who have fewer potential assists than Benedict Mathurin are Dillon Brooks, Lu Dort and Gary Trent...

 It's time for me to finally jump on the Giannis trade speculation bandwagon. I'm not sure how much we should read into reports about mutual interest between the Raptors and Giannis. I am certain the Raptors have interest, this is a guy Masai has been chasing for a decade now, but Giannis' interest is a different story. Are the Raptors really the best situation for him to go to if he's indeed planning on leaving the Bucks? Would the Raptors even be contenders if they gut their core for Giannis? Am I being too sentimental about a 30 win team?  With the NBA finals set to start on Thursday, I thought it was a good time to go over some of my takes from this NBA season. The beauty of having this blog now for an entire NBA season is that I cemented some takes I had throughout the year here. As I write this preamble, I haven't gone through anything yet. But I like to think that I had some good ones mixed in with some definite head scratchers. When I was previewing the Eastern Conference, I wanted to do anything I could to shoehorn the Raptors into the top 6. I couldn't fathom the 76ers falling out of the picture, honestly go through that whole article the entire thing could be my bad take #1, but this resulted in me having to choose a team to knock out of the top 6.  And the matchup is set! This is always a bittersweet 2 weeks in the basketball season. We get to watch the NBA finals which is fun and exciting, but soon it will be over and we'll be left with just baseball until football starts in September. It will be interesting to see if I can come up with something to write about every day during the dog days of summer, my first dog days as a blog owner who writes for fun. Anyway, before we dwell on that we have an NBA finals to preview! I wanted to get my preview and prediction out today then spend tomorrow and maybe Wednesday going over the season and some of my past predictions that have been cemented on this blog.  I was very grateful for the Thunder putting that game away after the first half last night. I had an MRI appointment early in the morning yesterday so by 10pm I was wiped, thank goodness the Thunder let me sleep. As a result, there's not much to say about that game and I have talked extensively about that series! I need a small section to congratulate a Canadian legend winning semi finals MVP and advancing to the finals but besides that I am going to just have a quick post where I talk about a couple of Jays that popped into my mind randomly this week. The Jays thing might turn into a bit of a series, you know how sometimes you have totally random athletes pop into your memory? This is as good a place as any to write those down and so I will! Congrats Thunder Real quick, the Thunder are simply the best team in basketball. The fact that the Nuggets series went 7 is more a testament to Jokic' dominance than it is to the Thunder's struggles.
